Michaele Terena Saban-Bernauer

  • Professor and coordinator of the Training Course in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) at Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo.

  • Director of the ACT na Sociedade project, Education Edition:
    - Extension Course at IENH in Rio Grande do Sul
    - Research laboratory in mental health in schools
    - Intervention and implementation of projects in schools, companies and communities to promote mental and social health.

  • Acts as a guest in research for the adaptation and implementation of ACT protocols in several areas (substance abuse, insomnia, sedentary lifestyle, health, etc).

  • Professor of ACT Behavioral Therapy in several postgraduate courses in the country.

  • Clinical psychologist and supervisor.

ACHIEVEMENTS

 

  • Founded the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences in Brazil, as an arm of the worldwide organization

  • Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, and was founding president. She organized the 1st Meeting of the Association and the 1st Meeting of Contextual Psychology for Women.

  • Was a founding member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science Foundation.

  • Participates in international congresses in the area since 2007, where she received training with the creators of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Steven C. Hayes, Kelly Wilson, Kirk Strosahl, Russ Harris, among others.

  • Received authorization and materials from the WHO for the translation, together with Helen Maia, of the protocol “In times of stress, do what matters”, indicated as excellent for managing stress and adverse conditions.
